Looking for some sage advice!

I spent all my 20’s searching for someone to turn my incredibly thick hair into shiny, glorious tresses. I spent a ton of money and went anywhere that was recommended. Then I found him. And he was amazing. Strong, able to do a slick blow dry without resorting to straighteners, confident to take the lead and create some cool AF styles. Fast forward 15 plus years and he still does wonders, but I fear, he no longer ‘sees me’. We do the same old stuff, it’s consistent, safe and, well, a tad dull. I want to shake shit up. But I know he would be devastated. Plus, where would I go? What if it failed and I looked ridiculous? Is this just a phase? Should I stay safe or risk passing off the one person who has not only made me look good year after year but also has a hell of a lot of dirt on me? Guidance please, oh, wise one x
