I should perhaps add that I spent £114 in the vet’s this morning (sore paw, nothing serious.)
But while this should make me think: don’t spend money on ridiculous shoes, you might need it for the dog! It actually makes me think: one for the dog, one for ME…
I bought some clear Uggs so that my hand knit socks are visible through the shoes. They are ridiculous. They are also the most uncomfortable shoes I’ve ever worn. Am I sorry? Nope. Buy the shoes!
You would be foolish not to buy them! During this time of such unsettled weather conditions these shoes could save you from drowning, mudslides, ice under foot. I imagine they would be exceptionally helpful when jumping over anything that could cause certain death.
Fuck me they're minging! BUT.... each to their own and if you love 'em, they should be YOURS! It would be a bloody boring world if we all liked the same thing!
I bought the Ugg mini boot version of these platforms, put them on, immediately fell and I think actually BROKE a bone on the top of my foot as this was back in November and it still hurts now. May the force be with you 🚨
They are ridiculous BUT with enough subliminal messaging we’ll all be wearing them by autumn so go well get them now and the first of what I am sure will be many ❤️ #uglyshoesforever
The soles look all-terrain, which is especially useful for us city-dwellers encountering potholes etc , but the tops look like slippers. Do we think they'd hold their shape? And what if they got rained on? I hope someone has tried these for real and has an answer because I've gone from "WTF?" to "I love them!"
I think they would hold their shape but also be destroyed by rain. I don’t think this is a purchase we make purely on the grounds of practicality (or even: at all)
Also, the shape of the soles looks as if they'd have a similar effect on the legs to MBTs, so that's another reason to give them serious consideration.
They are so ridic they look quite cool. I can't believe I actually like them. However, I would never wear them myself I feel like you will regret not buying them and by my standards if U wear them say 14 days a month say... in one month that's 10 quid a day so maybe don't buy a cocktail that day or eat lunch at home or don't use the tube. You're already saving money by having them. Fact
need more info tbh. How would you wear them? (on your feet obvs but with what?). Struggling to see how they would be integrated into an outfit but keeping an open mind......:-)
Excellent question! When I first encountered them IRL, I tried them on with the wide leg light denim jeans I had on (with a turn Up), and they looked ace. Good textural contrast between the denim and sheepskin. I suspect the clincher will be me trying them with shorts. I do already know ugg works well with a bare leg…
I'd say not, don't think I could walk in them but you might be able to. I have bought some Prada wicked witch of the west type shoes off Etsy in bronze with sequins - thought they'd be ok because of the low heel but no the pointy toe just kills my bunions (how attractive😂), so now they're sitting on a shelf as an objet d'art😊
Get the vet to give you a repeat prescription- so much cheaper online for long term meds. Also, if it’s for allergies, look into alternatives for apoquel. The bespoke jabs are life changing and were not as expensive as you’d think.
TYVM! It’s complicated. He got acute pancreatitis so needs diet of less than 10% fat. It’s chicken based & he’s allergic to it. I’m searching for low fat fish based food. Fingers crossed he’ll be ok without meds. Vet was open about repeat script to make it cheaper. Going to speak to insurers too.
I honestly can never tell with me. I might buy them in a moment of spontaneous madness while popping into an Office. I might entirely stop thinking about them. I’ll let you know!
They are ridic but I kind of like them....I want but don't need those bloomin' Fitflop/the Row dupes...I have held off since previous correspondence! Proud of myself...
This is the worst. I’m still haunted by the shiny red Birks I didn’t buy last year (on the basis that I apparently already have “too many”). I Google them forlornly every few weeks hoping a pair will magically appear for sale
I should perhaps add that I spent £114 in the vet’s this morning (sore paw, nothing serious.)

Weird goblin shoes for summer - are you OK? Hard no!
Finally! A non-enabler!
Probably gonna ignore you though
Thus ending athleisure.
Dear Christ, Vernon, no!
But they’re AMAZING
In a ridiculous way.
🤣
Current obsession (and there are many) - this butter dish which I absolutely do not need ... https://www.pophamshome.com/shop/p/ceramic-butter-dish-by-ppp-lab
I have been stalking six, Georgian mini personal butter servers for years now. Years.
But it’s heaven. It’s like the dish itself, somehow, is butter. Or a metaphor for butter?
My plan to stop me buying it is to try to make one myself - let's see how that goes...
Life is short, if it makes you happy then buy the butter dish!!! 😀
Genius
O mi it’s gorgeous!!
I bought some clear Uggs so that my hand knit socks are visible through the shoes. They are ridiculous. They are also the most uncomfortable shoes I’ve ever worn. Am I sorry? Nope. Buy the shoes!
Love this ❤️
I love everything about this! Clear uggs??? I want pics!
I keep buying hats in case I need to look chic in Nice one day. Currently I have no plans to visit France.
On ne sait jamais…
(Hopefully that means: ‘but one never knows…’)
You would be foolish not to buy them! During this time of such unsettled weather conditions these shoes could save you from drowning, mudslides, ice under foot. I imagine they would be exceptionally helpful when jumping over anything that could cause certain death.
I aient even considered they’d probably be the only thing standing between me and death!.
A health and safety investment.
Fuck me they're minging! BUT.... each to their own and if you love 'em, they should be YOURS! It would be a bloody boring world if we all liked the same thing!
True true… also they’d all be permanently sold out.
These are the footwear equivalent of snow tyres. And we all know what people who buy snow tyres are not our people.
Do we though?
Snow tyres!! For the feet!! Gawd yes. But in summer?!
I keep looking at swimwear as obviously the only thing stopping me going to the Lido is my lack of a Finisterre long sleeve swimsuit.
In which case…
Wouldn’t one simply roll off them?
No, they’re quite secure. They’ve got a lip, you see.
Talk me through this.
And you would feel so tall and fab.
ALSO… you lot are a dreadful influence.
Annndddddd….. did you buy?!!!
Really should have done an update I DID NOT. And given the current shit show of weather, I’m glad! Teetered on a knife edge for a bit.
They look like a new wave version of MBT trainers (remember those?); so clearly extremely useful as a total body workout. It was meant!
(Assuming you've bought them by now...)
Someone else brought up the MBT similarity which I hadn’t consciously registered but is definitely a factor in the allure! (I actually haven’t… yet)
Cliffhanger…
I bought the Ugg mini boot version of these platforms, put them on, immediately fell and I think actually BROKE a bone on the top of my foot as this was back in November and it still hurts now. May the force be with you 🚨
Bloody hell! That is a pretty strong argument against… poor you.
I am still an Ugg fan, I’ve got the low version of these and despite them being classed officially as slippers I wear them everywhere 😂
I would certainly wear them everywhere!
They look like they might be bouncy. Like, could they help you get places quicker? That has to be a plus... sort of.
Oh you’re so right! I’ve only just realised possibility of bounciness really appeals to me.
They are ridiculous BUT with enough subliminal messaging we’ll all be wearing them by autumn so go well get them now and the first of what I am sure will be many ❤️ #uglyshoesforever
So true. it’s conceivable I’m a pro-ugly shoe plant, actually. But I don’t think I am?

YEA TO THIS

So what you’re basically saying here, is they’re a smart financial investment, akin to a pension? You’re so right!
If you like
need more info tbh. How would you wear them? (on your feet obvs but with what?). Struggling to see how they would be integrated into an outfit but keeping an open mind......:-)

keep us posted! :-)
👌

I once bought some Miu Miu court shoes which never left the house. Totally un- walkable in.
but where is the LINK Polly :-)

Randomly, my hairdresser was wearing a pair of these the other week and said they felt amazing on, like slippers, she wears them everywhere. 😍🤷♀️
Ooooh! Is this A Sign? I did try them in Office and they were sublime on the foot.
I’ve never regretted an Ugg (always njustifying because I have really tricky feet, and they go on forever!) 🤷♀️
I love ‘I’ve never regretted an Ugg’ just as a maxim for life.
I love UAF footwear. I’d break my ankle in these though. Mr Jarvis Cockapoo would have me arse over tip in a flash, chasing his latest butch crush!
Tell me about vet fees, Apoquel , £102 for the first 2 weeks. It looks like he needs them for ever
Ouf! Dogs: not the smartest financial decision well ever make.
Nope but possibly the most loving
No question.
Get the vet to give you a repeat prescription- so much cheaper online for long term meds. Also, if it’s for allergies, look into alternatives for apoquel. The bespoke jabs are life changing and were not as expensive as you’d think.
This is top quality Intel

Have you a link to bespoke jabs please?
My dog had skin allergies - we had Artuvetrin immunotherapy jabs which were excellent. It was a few years ago. https://nextmune.com/gb/product/artuvetrin/?shop=pet-parent
Thank you so much again. I have to start the elimination diet with him & I’ll discuss with the vet about the blood test.
He has a dust/spore allergy already so it might help that to.
I feel like you’re going to get them …
I honestly can never tell with me. I might buy them in a moment of spontaneous madness while popping into an Office. I might entirely stop thinking about them. I’ll let you know!
Yes! They insist upon themselves. Although these shoes aren’t without some charm at least. I’ll give you that.
💋💋
I’m not edgy, am I? Still, I sported my First Ever Hoodie today.
I saw. I Liked!
Definitely buy. Get them. You’ll feel so good when you open them and put them on and you’ll know it was the right thing
Very true!
They are ridic but I kind of like them....I want but don't need those bloomin' Fitflop/the Row dupes...I have held off since previous correspondence! Proud of myself...
Not yet you haven’t…:
Fair point
I *didn’t* buy something I saw and loved and now I bitterly regret it as it’s sold out!! 😫
What was it?
A t-shirt from Anthropologie that said Blondie 1974. £70!!!! I thought that’s a lot but now regret not buying it
I feel your pain. There’s a lesson here too
This is the worst. I’m still haunted by the shiny red Birks I didn’t buy last year (on the basis that I apparently already have “too many”). I Google them forlornly every few weeks hoping a pair will magically appear for sale
Oh that’s sad
Massively daft but you’d carry them off
That’s what I think!
Not for me but I say go for it if you truly, really love them. As an aside, flippin’ vets fees - what’s that about?
With vets fees, I always think: best more reasonable guess of how much this will be X 2.5
*best, most reasonable guess
Now why did you show me these cause I took a look and want the green ones now!!!! Love them!!!
Sorry (not at all sorry. Not even slightly)
Plants
Is that a good thing?
I guess you'd have to balance up the garden and our credit card statement.....
Love chunks - buy buy buy
Ok. Three strong BUY votes. (TERRIBLE INFLUENCE! Shocking!)
Like a NB 347 platform sole… equals comfort with an Ugg sheepskin footbed … what’s not to love! 🩷
Right? Also, my main issue with UGGs is: no arch support… but these? Loads!
