I should perhaps add that I spent £114 in the vet’s this morning (sore paw, nothing serious.)

But while this should make me think: don’t spend money on ridiculous shoes, you might need it for the dog! It actually makes me think: one for the dog, one for ME…

You would be foolish not to buy them! During this time of such unsettled weather conditions these shoes could save you from drowning, mudslides, ice under foot. I imagine they would be exceptionally helpful when jumping over anything that could cause certain death.

They look like a new wave version of MBT trainers (remember those?); so clearly extremely useful as a total body workout. It was meant!

(Assuming you've bought them by now...)

The soles look all-terrain, which is especially useful for us city-dwellers encountering potholes etc , but the tops look like slippers. Do we think they'd hold their shape? And what if they got rained on? I hope someone has tried these for real and has an answer because I've gone from "WTF?" to "I love them!"

Expand full comment
Polly Vernon's avatar

I think they would hold their shape but also be destroyed by rain. I don’t think this is a purchase we make purely on the grounds of practicality (or even: at all)

Expand full comment
ElizabethDee's avatar

Also, the shape of the soles looks as if they'd have a similar effect on the legs to MBTs, so that's another reason to give them serious consideration.

They are so ridic they look quite cool. I can't believe I actually like them. However, I would never wear them myself I feel like you will regret not buying them and by my standards if U wear them say 14 days a month say... in one month that's 10 quid a day so maybe don't buy a cocktail that day or eat lunch at home or don't use the tube. You're already saving money by having them. Fact

Excellent question! When I first encountered them IRL, I tried them on with the wide leg light denim jeans I had on (with a turn Up), and they looked ace. Good textural contrast between the denim and sheepskin. I suspect the clincher will be me trying them with shorts. I do already know ugg works well with a bare leg…

I'd say not, don't think I could walk in them but you might be able to. Have you a link to bespoke jabs please?
